ACT Windsor Presents EVITA @ Capitol Theatre

Overview

As part of the ACT production of EVITA, I worked on the set design and fabrication team, contributing to the construction of stage elements for a full-scale theatre production. This experience required collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail while working within real production timelines.

My Role

In this role, I contributed to the fabrication of set pieces and supported the build process using a variety of tools and materials. The work required problem-solving, precision, and the ability to adjust as designs evolved throughout the production process.

Mentorship & Leadership

A key part of this experience involved working alongside and supporting high school students who were also participating in the build. I took on a mentorship role by demonstrating tool use, reinforcing safety practices, and guiding students through construction tasks. This allowed me to support both skill development and confidence-building in a real, hands-on environment.

Reflection

This experience reinforced the value of hands-on learning, collaboration, and mentorship. Supporting students in a practical setting gave me the opportunity to step into a teaching role, where guidance and encouragement played a key part in their success. It strengthened my understanding of how students learn through doing, and how meaningful support can impact both their confidence and outcomes.
